Identification
Adults can reach a length of 33 cm for a weight of 145 g. Slender-bodied species with thick but short curved black bill and very long graduated tail with spatulate tip. All dark plumage with green iridescence on wings. Bright blue eyes.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia, from east Myanmar and Vietnam to southern Thailand, then on Java and Bali. Lives in lowland open forests and nearby plantations and clearings, to 1000 m.

Status : The species has a large range and is locally common. It is dependent on forest, which could make it threatened if habitat loss continues.
