Identification
Large crow with powerful long bill with arched culmen. Plumage mostly black with glossed dark blue to purple iridescence, particularly on wings. Forehead distinctively peaked.
Range and habitat
Subspecies occurs from central and south Malay Peninsula to Greater and Lesser Sundas. Found in all types of woodlands and forests, village, cultivated areas, rarely cities.

Status : Wide-ranging species, adaptable and able to live close to human settlements. Rare on Borneo were locally caught and persecuted, also persecuted, hunted and caught in Philippines.
