Identification
Adults can reach a length of 15.2 cm for a weight of 32 g. Plumage very silky. Light brown coloration with black throat and mask on face. Bright yellow belly and tail tips. Wings dark grey with conspicuous red club-tips on feathers.
Range and habitat
This species breeds in most of central and south Canada, north to Alaska, and in northern half of USA. Winters in South USA, south to Panama. Lives mostly in open woodlands and woodlands edges with fruiting trees.
