Identification
The species can reach 40 cm in length for a weight of 295 grams. White head, neck and belly, stained black behind eyes. Thin black band on crown. Black wings with white spots. Long black tail. Bright yellow bill with black edges.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Africa, from Somalia and Ethiopia to Kenya, Uganda and north-east Tanzania. Lives in open dry savannas and woodlands.
