Identification
Black cheeks and throat, wings, back and tail with subterminal buff-brown band. Rest of plumage white for male. Black bill with yellow and black ridges, pink naked skin around eyes and cheeks.
Range and habitat
Subspecies endemic to Luzon, Marinduque and Catanduanes in northern Philippines. Found in primary lowland evergreen forests and grasslands with fruiting trees, to 900 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species is dependant on forests for its conservation and so far, parts of its range are impacted and other areas are safe. Polillo subspecies is likely in a critical situation.
