Identification
Plumage entirely shiny black except from pure white breast, belly, thighs. Blue naked skin (flesh-colored for females), horn-colored bill with flat casque. Subspecies with black bill tip.

Range and habitat
Subspecies found in western Africa, from Senegal and Gambia to Nigeria. Occurs in lowland forests, plantations, suburban parks, savannas with tall trees, to 1300 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : This species is overall widespread and common to locally very common. In some areas, it could be vulnerable to capture for the trade. Overall, this species is very adaptable.
