Identification
Large toad species, reaching up to 14 cm in body length, males being shorter than females and not growing over 10 cm. Very warty skin, grey brownish-green coloration with lighter colored flanks. Head squarish with short blunt snout.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in most of South East Asia, from Myanmar and Vietnam to Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo and Java. Introduced in south Sulawesi. Lives near streams and rivers in rainforests. Sometimes found near cities.

Status : The species is relatively common in the wild and has a huge range. It can occur near cities long after most other amphibian species are gone.
