Identification
This species can reach a total length of up to 15 cm. Its skin is warty and it has a small dorsal ridge. Back and flanks are dark brownish-green. Scattered orange markings on belly and blue stripe on undertail of breeding males.

Range and habitat
The species is only known from south China, occurring only in the south of Guangdong province and Hong Kong. Lives in hilly streams surrounded by forests.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species has a very small range and is threatened by intense habitat destruction and collection for the local pet trade. So far, it is still common.
