Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of 21.5 cm for a weight of 72 g. Slender-built dove with fairly long tail. Grey-brown with dark edging on wing feathers. Sides of neck and breast with narrow black stripes. Eye contour light blue.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in South-East Asia, from south Myanmar to Malaysia, Sumatra and Java. It has been introduced in many other parts of the world. Lives mostly in open lowland habitats, including cities and cultivations, up to 2000 m.
