Identification
46 cm body length. Unmistakable with its curly and shiny feathers on top of head. Black-tipped white feathers on throat and neck, yellow breast and red belly.
Range and habitat
Amazonia, south of Amazon river, from Peru and western Brazil to North Bolivia. Lives in humid tropical rainforests, especially in lowlands.

Status : Still fairly common in the wild but sensitive to clearing of forests and capture of wild specimens for international bird trade.
