Identification
Adults can reach a maximum length of 15 cm. Body is slightly laterally compressed and high profiled. Coloration is bright pink with yellow to dark orange blotches on flanks and horizontal bands near eyes. Pink-tipped yellow fins.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indian Ocean and west Pacific ocean, from South Africa to Palau, north to Japan, south to Australia. Lives in deep water caves and coral reefs, from 100 to 300 meters deep.

Status : The species seems to remain at least locally common. It doesn’t face any threats at present times.
