Identification
Fairly small species, reaching up to 25 cm in length. Males are greenish with white longitudinal line on middle flanks and darker lines from head to tail. Females are bigger and more colorful, with black-edged clear ocelli on flanks.

Range and habitat
This species is endemic to Madagascar and occurs most of the eastern parts of the Island. Lives in forest edges, usually in shrubby grassland and well vegetated gardens.

Status : This species remains common in the wild and is fairly tolerant of disturbance in its habitat. It is found in protected areas.
