Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 7 cm. Unmistakable species. Body coloration is dark blue with shining purple band on every flank scales. Face, back, dorsal and caudal fins are bright yellow.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in western Pacific Ocean, from Ryukyu Islands to Taiwan and from Queensland (Australia) to New Caledonia. Lives along rocky outcrops and crevices, deep sections of outer reefs, from 20 to 60 m.

Status : The species doesn’t have a very big range but seems to be very common in suitable habitat. Not targeted by international trade.
