Identification
Adults can reach a length of 8 cm, females being bigger than males. Large head with big gray eyes. Prominent ridges from behind eyes to mid-body and on legs. Coloration bright green on back and flanks. Underside is dark gray to brown.

Range and habitat
The species is found in South America, from Guianas, Suriname and Brazil to Colombia, south to Bolivia, mostly in the Amazon river basin. Lives in tropical rainforests, seasonally flooded forests, up to 450 m.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a large range and is thought to remain fairly common to locally very common. Could become threatened by habitat loss.
