Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Body length of 16 cm, tail length of 23 cm, weight of 140 g. Smallest monkey species known. Round head with bare skin around face. Coloration is olive-brown. Darker (face skin and fur) with less stripes on tail than C. niveiventris.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in South America, from South Colombia, west Brazil, tp north Ecuador and Peru. Lives in lowland forests, often near seasonally flooded areas.

Status : This species remains fairly common around its large range but has been declining in some areas because of habitat degradations.
