Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 6.3 cm for a weight up to 15 g. Smooth and shiny skin, pointed snout. Coloration orange to yellow with black spots all over body. Sometimes, presence of black chevron-like markings on back.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Panama and occurs in the provinces of Panama and Coclé, east of the main Tabasara ridge. It lives in tropicale montane rainforests, always close to fast-flowing rivers.

IUCN RED LIST : CRITICALLY ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix I
Status : Most of the species’ populations are now extinct because of the chytrid fungus disease. The species’ main hope for survival is now captive breeding.
