Identification
Overall brown plumage with slight golden fringes to wings, darker tail, yellow tinge to throat and belly with darker middle breast. Black bill, red eyes. Subspecies lighter and bigger.
Range and habitat
Subspecies occurs from southern Myanmar and Thailand to Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo and nearby islands. Found in edges of broadleaf evergreen and peatswamp forests, riversides.

Status : The species occurs in many protected areas but, despite being tolerant of a significant degree of habitat destruction, declines have been noted in most of its range.
