Identification
The species grows to 23 cm and a weight of 155 g. Horn-colored bill, white breast and belly, yellow upper breast and cheeks, orange crown and nape, green wings. Subspecies with green upperparts of tail and bright yellow thighs.
Range and habitat
Subspecies found from east Peru and Bolivia to west Brazil, south of Amazon. Species also occurs in other areas of Brazil, south of the Amazon river. Lives in lowland humid forest and gallery forest near watercourses.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is more and more vulnerable to habitat loss and overcollection for the trade. This subspecies remains the safest so far.
