Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 11.5 cm for a weight of 14.1 g. Thin but conspicuous white circle around eyes. Small black bill, black lores. Plumage olive green to dark green with darker wings. Throat, breast and belly bright yellow.

Range and habitat
This species occurs in Subsaharan Africa, from south Mauritania and Senegal to Ethiopia and Eritrea, south to Angola and north-east South Africa. Lives in woodlands, open forests and wooded swamps, up to 3400 meters.
