Identification
Cylindrical body, blue eyes. Back light pink, flanks with broad horizontal blue-edged bright red band. Flanks and belly under red band are white. Black triangle-shaped marking on tail fin.

Range and habitat
Indo-Pacific, from Indonesia and Philippines to Solomon Islands, Tonga and Micronesia. Found around sandy and rubble areas, deep waters around steep drop-offs.

CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species has a large range and lives in deep water areas making it far less likely to be threatened by habitat loss and collection for the trade at this time.
