Identification
The species can reach 4,5 cm, females smaller than males. Large eyes. Coloration mostly grey-white with clumps of pink-red dots forming angular blotches on most of flanks. White elongated first ray of dorsal fin. Orange mouth.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area, from Mauritius and Christmas Islands to Indonesia, Philippines and south Japan. Lives in deep coastal reefs and reef drop-offs, from 14 to 65 meters deep.

Status : The species seems to face no major threats. It is relatively widespread and can be locally common.
