Identification
Adult males grow to 50 cm with a 20 cm long tail. Male has iridescent green ocelli on tail, wing and back feathers. Light grey crest, iridescent blue-green sides of breast, white center of breast and chin. Red skin around eyes, blue eyes.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South-East Asia and is endemic to Borneo, being found both in the Malayan and Indonesian sides of the Island. Lives in primary lowland forests and regenerating areas after fires, to 1070 m.

CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species is very poorly known and extremely difficult to see in the wild. It seems to have disappeared from most of its known range. It is targeted by a conservation breeding program.
