Identification
Body length of 34 cm, vestigial tail, weight up to 850 g. Coloration variable from rich brown to grey, lighter on belly. Dark dorsal stripe, dark brown to black eye-rings and crown patch. Very clear limbs, pinkish hands and feet.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in southeast Asia, from extreme south Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia to Sumatra (except north) and nearby islands. Lives in primary and secondary lowland rainforests, swamp forests and plantations.

IUCN RED LIST : ENDANGERED
CITES : Appendix I
Status : This recently described species is threatened mostly by habitat loss. Collection of specimens for trade needs to be monitored.
