Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Adults can reach up to 12 cm. Yellowish-blue to green, long tail tips, similar to C. viridis but differs with rows of bright blue dots on back and around face, bluer eyes, blue line between mouth and eye, large black spot on pectoral fin base.

Range and habitat
The species occurs sporadically in the Indo-Pacific area, around the Seychelles, Thailand coasts, Australia and most islands in Oceania. Lives in clear lagoons and seaward reef slopes, down to 29 meters deep.

Status : The species isn’t threatened so far but could be declining if coral reefs keep being destroyed.
