Identification
The species grows to 35 cm. Round head profile, small mouth. Coloration pearly white to light beige-white with clear center to scales. Upper flanks with light-orange edges to flanks and light blue longitudinal line. Red-edged tail fin.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in the Indo-Pacific area from St Brandon’s shoal to Indonesia and Tuamoto Islands, north to Ryukyu Islands. Lives in deep seaward reefs, from 15 to 200 meters deep.
