Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
The species can reach 14 cm in length. Coloration mostly white with rows of spots on flanks forming a pearly aspect. Large triangle-shaped black patch on upper back, reaching tail. Two black bands on face and forward part of body.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in the western Pacific Ocean, from Taiwan and Indonesia to Solomon Islands, Micronesia and Tonga. Lives in steep drop-offs of outer reefs, from 20 to 80 meters deep.

Status : The species has a huge range and seems to be facing no known threats at this time.
