Identification
Adults can reach a total length of 23 cm for a weight of 57 g. Round head with short grey bill, long tail. Plumage mostly sandy grey to beige, lighter grey for males. Males have black area on cheeks and behind eyes. Tail tipped black.
Range and habitat
The species breeds from eastern Iraq to western Afghanistan and winters from south Iran to extreme west India and parts of Saudi Arabia. Lives in woodlands and scrublands with fruiting trees in valleys and river basins.
