Identification
This species is the biggest of its genus, growing to 50 cm in total length. Long head with side ridges and pointed nose. Coloration bright to dark green, often with yellow dots on flanks. Clear band above lips and on first third of flanks.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the island of Cuba in the Caribbean Sea. It has been introduced to USA, in Florida. Occurs where there are large trees.

Status : The species has a small range but seems to remain fairly common and has been introduced successfully elsewhere.
