Identification
Body length of 65 cm, tail length of 65 cm, weight of 9.6 kg. Adult males are entirely black (although some populations have dark brown back) with black face. Females are light brown-beige with clear face. Juveniles are blond.
Range and habitat
This species is found in South America, from central and south Brazil to North Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and south-east Bolivia. Lives in Cerrado forests and dry forest scrub, gallery forests.

Status : This species has a wide range and is adaptable but has been declining in some areas because of the fragmentation and destruction of its habitat.
