Identification
This species can reach a body length of 4.7 cm, females being longer than males. Dorsolateral skin folds well visible on back, fingers have disk-like tips and horizontal grooves. Coloration brown with dark band on snout and behind eyes.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in eastern Asia and is endemic to Taiwan, being found in the central-western side of the island. Lives in low altitude hill forests with streams, from 170 to 500 meters asl.

Status : The species has a very small distribution and its preferred forest habitat is more and more fragmented when not completely cleared or polluted.
