Identification
Slender-bodied species reaching up to 5 cm in length. Smooth dorsal skin, long legs with disk-shaped toes. Coloration from bright green to yellow green or brown. Black-brown band running from nose to mid-flanks. Belly is purplish-grey.

Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Europe and occurs from France to Poland, south to Switzerland and the Alps, east to Greece. Occurs in swamps, ponds and lakes in open forests and gardens.

Status : The species has a large range and remains locally common but habitat loss and pollution has made its range fragmented and cause declines.
