Notes : No subspecies known.

Identification
Body length of 22 cm, tail length of 33 cm and a weight of 406 g. Females are larger than males. Entire body covered with pale silvery-grey to yellowish white hairs. Ears and face pink and naked. Tail is long and entirely black.

Range and habitat
This species is endemic to north-east Brazil and found south of the Amazon, between the Rio Tocantins and Rio Tapajos. Lives in lowland disturbed primary and secondary humid forests.

Status : The species remains relatively common so far but is threatened by deforestation and other forms of habitat loss.
