Identification
Body length of 65 cm, tail length of 45 cm, weight of 3 kg. One of the biggest species of its genus. This subspecies is smaller than most and also much duller with brown back, clear brown head and forehead. Orange-yellow breast.
Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Java. Species also found from Pakistan and Nepal to China, south to Malaysia, Java, Borneo and Sumatra. Lives mostly in dry forests, both montane and lowland, up to 3000 meters.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix III
Status : The species is poorly known and most of its population appear to be relatively safe. Subspecies robinsoni from Java is endangered.
