Identification
The species is endemic to Solomon Islands and occurs from Bougainville, south-east to Guadalcanal and Malaita. Lives in all kinds of forests, even cloud forests, up to 1700 m.
Range and habitat
This species is endemic to central Indonesia and occurs in the north Moluccas, on Halmahera, Tidore, Kasiruta, Ternate, Mandioli and Bacan. Lives in primary forests, logged forests mostly in lowlands, up to 600 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species remains common and is very rarely trapped for the bird trade making it safer than other cockatoos. Threatened locally by deforestation.
