Identification
Small aquatic frog reaching 3.6 cm in length. Body is flattened, small head with large upward-pointing eyes. Long limbs with claws on hindlimbs. Coloration is orange-brown with dark mottling on back. Underside is light yellowish-white.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in western Africa and is endemic to Lake Oku, located on Mount Oku, in extreme north-west Cameroon, not far from Nigerian border. Lives in shallow montane lake surrounded by primary rainforest.

IUCN RED LIST : CRITICALLY ENDANGERED
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species only occurs in a 2 sq km lake with the risk of predation from introduced fishes and pollution of waters.
