Identification
Adults can grow to a length of 31 cm. Very large head, big eyes, large mouth with fringes of warts. Dorsally flattened body. Coloration mottled brown with large dark-edged grey areas with black dots on back and tail peduncle.
Range and habitat
The species lives in the Indo-Pacific area, along the coasts of Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and north Australia. Lives in the deltas of large rivers, coastal and brackish water areas, to 68 m deep.

Status : The species’ status hasn’t been assessed. It has a huge range and remains quite common although habitat loss and pollution might be a threat.
