Identification
The species can reach a total length of about 32 cm. Head triangular. Nuchal and dorsal crests with very long thick spines. Coloration is olive-brown with white dots on lower flanks. Pink dot on cheeks, bright blue and violet throat pouch.
Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia, from South Thailand (south to the Isthmus of Kra) to most of Peninsular Malaysia (except far south). Lives in submontane and montane monsoon evergreen forest, up to 1800 m.
