Identification
Very small species, growing to about 1 to 1.5 cm in length. Recognizable by the top of its head and first half of back bright red with no markings. Flanks, legs and lower back are light blue, crowded with black spots and dots.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Peru and occurs in the Departamento Loreto, around Iquitos and in Ecuador in Pastaza area. Lives in lowland primary and secondary rainforests.

Status : The species has a relatively large range and remains at least locally common with no known threats and no big declines recorded so far.
