Identification
Adults can grow to a body length of 23.7 cm, tail length of 24.9 cm and weight up to 377 g. Bushy tail. Grey coloration with black lower flanks, beige-orange belly and yellow undertail. Black tail tuft. Muzzle clearer than rest of face.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in extreme south Yunnan (China) and in nearby Myanmar, from north-east to south-central areas of the country. Lives in primary and secondary forests, sometimes suburban parks.

Status : The species has a small range but remains globally common. There are currently no threats known to its survival.
