Identification
Adults can reach a length around 6-7 cm, legs excluded. Large eyes facing slightly upwards. Short rounded snout, skin very smooth. Coloration brown to olive or greenish-brown, often with faint golden-yellow spotting on back and flanks.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to the Arabian peninsula and occurs in coastal areas of south and south-west Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Lives close to freshwater springs, rivers and waterbodies, irrigated areas.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species is extremely abundant in areas where habitat is suitable. So far it doesn’t seem to be threatened and can adapt to man-made habitats.
