Identification
Adults reach a wingspan of 5 to 7 cm. Forewing with round notch. Upperside brown. Underside blackish-brown with faint mottling. Faint row of chocolate-brown eye marks close to wing edges. Two light spots on top underwing.
Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Mindanao. The species occurs in the Philippines, from Mindoro to Mindanao and in Sangihe and Talaud. Lives in woodlands, open forests, gardens in suburban areas.
