Identification
Spiraled shell with a length of nearly 10 cm and a diameter of about 6 cm. Shell coloration is white to beige with three parallel rows of red-brown markings on the first three widest shell whorls. Body is reddish with dark rim and red edge.

Range and habitat
Indo-Pacific, mostly from South China to Taiwan, eastwards to Philippines and south to Indonesia. Lives around coral reefs, both on rocky areas and sandy bottoms.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status in the wild hasn’t been assessed and it seems to be numerous around its range despite being often collected for international trade.
