Identification
Large eagle reaching 90 cm in length for a weight of 5.8 kg and a wingspan of 2.19 m. Yellow feet, bare skin around eyes and face bright yellow. Rest of plumage black with a white V-shaped mark on back.
Range and habitat
Africa, from Angola to South Africa, then north to Sudan. Also occurs in Middle-east. Vagrant to north and west Africa. Lives in drier habitats, sometimes forests, gorges, rocky areas up to 5000 m.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species isn’t considered threatened and remains common where suitable habitat occurs. Local declines are due to persecution and lack of prey.
