Identification
Adults can grow to 65 cm in length. Both sexes have beige to whitish-beige bill and casque, female’s casque is smaller. Dark brown wings and crest, female entirely dull brown with lighter throat, male light brown with whitish throat.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in South East Asia, from eastern India and South China to southern Myanmar, Laos, south Cambodia and parts of Vietnam. Lives mostly in hill and lowland deciduous and evergreen forests.

IUCN RED LIST : NEAR THREATENED
CITES : Appendix II
Status : The species isn’t considered threatened but many of its populations are now fragmented and declining because of habitat loss.
