Notes : No subspecies known.
Identification
Body length between 2.2 and 3 cm. Black body with yellow band on snout. Forelimbs bright green. Bright green spots on flanks, sometimes reaching the entire back. Hindlimbs are orange with dark stripes. No horseshoe mark below mouth.
Range and habitat
The species is endemic to Central-western Madagascar, occurring from Fierenana to the Andringitra mountains. It lives in swamp forests, rivers in and around forests, bamboo groves and even in countries used for slash and burn agriculture.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN

Status : The species has a fairly large range and is present in high population densities. It occurs in some protected areas.
