Identification
This species can reach a wingspan of 6 cm. Normal coloration is rich brown to orange-brown with a row of well-defined eye-like spots near wing edges. Underside is darker brown with wavy lines and row of reddish eye-spots near edge.

Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in Malaysia, Philippines and Greater Sundas. Species also found in most of Indonesia, New Guinea, north Australia and north to Okinawa. Lives in forests, woodlands, grasslands and suburban parks.

Status : The species hasn’t been assessed yet but it has a huge range and is fairly common and adaptable. Some insular subspecies might be threatened.
