Identification
The species can reach a wingspan of 7 to 8 cm. Black body with white spots. Dark brown to black wing coloration with large elongated grey-white cells radiating from the body. Two rows of white spots between cells and wing edges.

Range and habitat
This subspecies is endemic to Luzon, Philippines. Species found throughout Philippines and Indonesia east to Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. Lives in woodlands, wooded urban gardens, open forests.

CITES : Not listed
Status : The species’ status has yet to be assessed by IUCN. Although it has a big range, it is an insular species and some populations could be threatened.
