Identification
Adults can grow to 22 cm in length for a weight of 54 g. Dull brown crest, wings, back and tail with olive tinge on back. White chin, olive-yellow breast and belly. This subspecies is much darker with olive-brown breast and belly.
Range and habitat
This subspecies occurs in southern Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. Species found from south Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar to Sumatra. Lives in closed-canopy evergreen forests, up to 1600 meters.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN
CITES : Not Listed
Status : The species is dependant on intact forests to survive but will be mostly found above deforestation zone. It occurs in many protected areas for now.
