Identification
The species can reach at least 150 cm in length but probably more. Slender body with triangular section, flattened flanks and strong dorsal ridge. Coloration is dark olive-brown without pattern, becoming greyer on head.

Range and habitat
The species occurs in south-east Asia where it is endemic to Indonesia, being found on Tanahjampea island, in the Selatan province of Sulawesi. Lives in forests and second growth, both in lowlands and montane areas.

Status : The species is endemic to a small island and known from a single locality that has been nearly completely deforested.
