Identification
Adults can reach up to 2.50 meters in length. Triangular body section, long tail, large head with round snout. Yellow throat and lips. Coloration is shiny black with thin transversal yellow bands, often broken on top of back and wider near belly.

Range and habitat
This species has been split from B. dendrophila and occurs in Thailand, Mainland Malaysia, Singapore and Sumatra (Indonesia). Lives in lowland rainforests, humid areas of woodlands, mangrove swamps.

IUCN RED LIST : LEAST CONCERN (as B. dendrophila)
CITES : Not listed
Status : The species has a huge range and still remains common despite local collecting for the pet trade. Not yet assessed as a full species.
